QUOTE: also, seeing as i'm on the subject, i might as well plug OM (not olympique marseille), the band the drummer and bassist from sleep formed. they're fucking great.
Are OM still going? I was under the impression they'd had a falling out and refuse to work together anymore. Will have to check out asbestodeath.
Regarding life, I don't think I've ever had it so good right now. Lovely girlfriend, I've got a great job and so has she, we live in a big apartment in the centre of town, I've got no debts, I've just finished a degree in Computer Science with the OU and am applying to take my Master's next year, I'm playing and writing music again, I produce a weekly podcast that is becoming quite successful and most importantly I've pretty much broken free of the alcohol dependency I'd developed over the last 3 or 4 years and feel great, looking back I can't even fathom how I could drink as much as I was.
It's nice to be like this because I remember when I first started on OTF 8 years ago, I was a bit directionless and fed up.
Good stuff - looking out of the office window right now and the QEII is doing what might be colloquially termed as a 'U-ey' in the middle of the river.
Last ever visit to the Mersey for a quintessentially British piece of maritime heritage, quite an historic occasion.
MY sinus problems have cleared up. I woke this morning to find the dull throb in my cheekbones had gone, my jaw no longer hurt, the toothache had gone, and a blow of my nose produced snot with the consistency of a highland toffee bar, and the colour of Mountain Dew soda. I feel supreme.

OM are still going, they've got the drummer from grails playing with them. i've just found out i'm going to see them with shellac, lightning bolt (YES!), pissed jeans, wooden shjips and some other stuff at the end of the month. which is a good thing.
asbestosdeath is pretty decent, but it's not really in the stoner vein - more filthy, dirgy metal, but decent enough.
anyway, good things for today: getting the credit card paid off, having a head full of melvins riffs from last night, looking for a silver lining in the lady going away for the weekend by going on a massively undignified bender for a couple of days. hooray.
in the bigger scheme of things? not much. might have a new band on the go, might be leaving the country eventually.
Last night I had a freebie at the Globe Theatre. Champagne reception, nice meal, lovely wine, box for the performance with more champagne and truffles. They even provided knee blankies in case it was chilly.
And it was only a 10 minutes walk home too. Lovely.
