Christ, that song is dismal--unfortunately Fräulein Pepys keeps singing it all day.

What the fuck is a cherry chopstick though?

Incidentally, Katy Perry grew up in a strict Christian household and her first album was Christian rock and received no attention at all.

It's a terrible song indeed. And that other song of hers, Ur So Gay... fucking putrid and noxious shit on every level.

"I Kissed A Girl" seems part of a trend in pop for increasingly prosaic lyrics, where nothing is hinted at, a spade is called a spade, and there's no decoding or subtexts at all. These are does-what-it-says-on-the-tin album/songs titles, things like "Park Bench Theories" and the like. It's like there's no time anymore for a pop song to have levels of meaning: they just say what they are, and that's it.

On an unrelated note, I really fancy Katy Perry.

Also, what the church sign above looked like a few days after they put up their anti-"I Kissed A Girl" sign:

Derek, I feel your pain. Those airbrushed posters for her album in tube stations give me PPV-esque moments every morning.
