And why not????????

He's played in a defence that's conceded two goals, he can play right back or centre half, he's Spain's biggest threat from set pieces, he kept Zhirkov relatively quiet and Corluka exepted, didn't have that much competition for the position. Anuykov and Sabri were good going forward but poor defensively.

He's had one decent game out of four.

He was embarrassingly shit in Spain's first two games, and was no more than half-adequate against Italy.

Corluka hardly put a foot wrong in the entire tournament and Anyukov has been superb as well.

Barring an extraordinary performance from Casillas in the final (Lehmann has already made too many mistakes), the 'keeper has to be Boruc.

And those of you have left out Senna are insane. Its easy to give player-of-the-tournament status to the eye-catching forward players, but Senna has been absolutely pivotal for Spain throughout.

Just how many good games did Arshavin have then?

Two absolutely blinding games out of three, reaching a level against Holland that so far no other player has managed, despite the best efforts of Sneijder in the group games.

Van der Sar

Anyukov / Sergio Ramos (can't decide*)
Chiellini
Servet
Zhirkov

Sneijder
Senna
Arshavin
Podolski

Villa
Pavlyuchenko

* No great right backs at the tournament, but both are good at getting forward.

This is still subject to change on the final obviously. A good match from Fabregas could see him into the side.
