Ohmygod, that sounds brilliant! I almost wish I'd stayed up 'til 5am to see that happen.

Game 6 Wednesday. I might try to sleep in the early evening, then get up at 1am to watch it.

I went to bed after the second OT, but couldn't sleep, but when I got up it was over, so I watched the highlights on SportsCenter.

The Penguins have a chance, however slim. Fleury is making lots of saves. I think they ought to be slightly favored to win game 6 at home and then maybe they can get lucky again in game 7.

I've seen the Stanley Cup skated around every year since 1973 except once, not counting 2005. So even without a dog in the fight, I had to watch last night; for the OT it was on one of those 4" B&W sets that'll be obsolete in a few months. It's not hooked up to cable, meaning I had to find the best position for it for reception, which turned out to be on my bed, facing the foot. I had to lay across the bottom of the bed, so of course I eventually dozed off but was woken up by Mike Emrick's cry at the winning goal, so I'd have seen the Cup ceremony if it had happened.

I don't know whether to sympathize with or laugh at those Detroit fans who already had their arms raised in victory in the final minute of regulation.

I usually watch that part, but I really don't want Detroit to win so I'll try to avoid it this year.

I'd have loved to have been there and heard the collective "ohh!" when that happened. Mind you, I would have laughed out loud at it and then probably been beaten to death for my trouble.

God, I hate the Wings. They are like Man U and Liverpool combined.

As a Cubs fan, it has occurred to me that it is a diabolical plot by Sam Zell's Tribune Company to destroy Wrigley Field, thus opening the door for a more "revenue enhancing" ballpark.

The sightlines and capacity would be much better at Soldier Field, too.

Ugh!

Wings become the first team to ever lift the Stanley Cup in Mellon Arena.

Ugh.

Now that Pittsburgh isn't moving, I can back to poo-pooing the Pens along with saying bully for the Wings.

It's safe to call Detroit not only Hockeytown, but Pennsylvania Killingtown (wiping the floor with Philly and now beating Pitt for the Cup.) It's time that Pennsylvania learns from their superior masters across the Delaware on how to handle Detroit in the Finals (don't worry coffy, only 3 more days of New Jersey Jingoism.)

Are you moving in three days? You need to be packing, not goofing off on the 'net.

Good luck. Mmm, beignets.

Detroit isn't Hockeytown. Detroit isn't even a "town." It's more like an area around where a city used to be.

This is Hockeytown, USA.

Aha, that's Hockey Town, not Hockeytown.

I should be packing, but what would life be without goofing off on the internet.
