I quite like Keane as a singles band, and I think their new song (Spiralling) is really good, even if it sounds like it belongs on the last Killers album.

That's it, really.

Okay, you've confessed it, that's step one. Step two is to do something about it.

I think they're the best of the bedwetting bands: much superior to Coldplay, Snow Patrol, The Fray and so on.

Yeah, I quite liked some of their first album. The tinkling echoing piano had a bit of an 80s feel to them, like A-ha or something.

"This is the Last Time" is a really good song, I reckon, and I liked "Everybody's Changing" and "Somewhere Only We Know" too. I thought everything I heard off the last album was shit, though, and I've not heard the new one yet.

Is it any wonder that I take the exact view hofzinser does?

Anyway, isn't it a prescribed tradition to greet new songs by that group with a thread titled "They're back"?

I don't know about OTF tradition but shouldn't it be "...they're back, back, back!".

Keane aren't so bad at all. It's decent quality foppery - they must be one of the best of the genre, even if they're not everyone's cup of tea...

Welcome. I can see you're new here, not by your post count but by your reasonableness. Don't worry, after a few threads you'll be as irrationally vituperative as the rest of us.

"vituperation is par for the course"

Indeed, mash a pretentious 5-syllable word up against some nauseating cliche, in the name of sounding "reasonable." Barf.

What's the point of listening to Keane when you could be spending the time listening to Ben Folds?
