Anyone heard this? It's the latest album from Gregg Gillis, who doesn't like to be called a mashup DJ, but is exactly that.
The
tracklist gives you a good idea of what to expect.
It's mostly hip-hop, but with a heck of a lot of different pop music thrown in.
It's really good fun, even if you know the novelty will wear off quite quickly (and the sheer volume of stuff going on can be almost too much at times). You'd certainly have a good night out with this guy DJing.
The best bits, though, are the odd moments where you get something like Lil Wayne over Nothing Compares 2 U, or OutKast over Journey's Faithfully. It's a very clever way of making the rapping sound a bit more fragile, and it's worth checking out just for these little bits of brilliance.
