The next one is

Saturday May 17. I'm away but I'm being covered by the ace Kilon Tek.

His mix tape is available from either our website www.bigsexyland.co.uk (click on audio) or go to Kilon Tek's MySpace.

Other stuff is:

We've parted ways (amicably) with Michael Gray and have no plans to replace him at the moment. For the time being we will be having the odd guest DJ such as Kilon Tek, Rob from Chips With Everything, Will from Adventures Close To Home, Sheila Chipperfield from Elastica and many others.

The regular Manchester BSL is off the menu for the time being. That said John T will be DJing regularly at Chips With Everything in Manchester. More details to follow.

We've got a number of new mixes coming out; one for The Laurel Collective, who recently signed to Double Six, a subsiduary of Domino and George Pringle on DiS recordings. Again more details soon.

Right, any problems with the download were only caused by too many people trying to access it at once.

Try again if you want to hear it.

Should anyone want to know:

BigSexyLand at Voltage
PLATINUM
23 PAUL STREET, LONDON, EC2A
Hoxton's intimate electro-eclectic all-night party...

SATURDAY 17 MAY '08
All-nighter: 23.00 til 07.00 (with all-night bar)

£7 with flyer
£6 with if you email your name(s) to This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
£5 before 12, after 4 / NUS
£10 otherwise

Plus, before 1am: 2 for 1 Czech bottled beers AND on Italian Opal Sambucca

The BSL residency at VOLTAGE continues, with one of the best line-ups at the club yet. With John D away at All Tomorrow’s Parties, our newly discovered electro brother from another mother Kilon Tek will be standing in to DJ alongside John T in the basement from 11-3am. You can check out Mr Tek’s skills on his 80-minute “Interface Mix 08” mp3, currently hosted on the BSL website at http://www.bigsexyland.co.uk/audio/audio.shtml

We’ll also be doing another set in the ground floor bar later on.

Elsewhere in the club, Voltage have once again bagged another internationally-acclaimed electro DJ in the form of the astounding VICARIOUS BLISS (Ed Banger).

Since this UK-born Parisian's first Ed Banger release, Theme From Vicarious Bliss, back in early 2005 to massive acclaim, his reputation has soared to that of International superstar DJ. Not surprising, as even that first track was quickly playlisted by all the most forward-thinking London and European club DJs, picked up by UK Radio 1 with Rob Da Bank proclaiming it Tune Of The Month for November '06, and was also DMC: Hot release Buzz of the month' & Single Of The Week in France's Les Inrockuptibles amongst other things.

Since then, Vicarious Bliss, actually an unassuming chap called Andy, has remixed N*E*R*D, Mystery Jets, Sebastien Tellier, Ladytron, Teenage Bad Girl, and even the godlike Human League's Together In Electric Dreams. He then went on to co-produce Ladytron's album (due out this Summer). All of this slotted between his gruelling International DJ schedule, which has so far taken him to London's Fabric, Barcelona's Nitsa & Razzmatazz, Glasgow's Arches, Global Gathering, Hong Kong's Volar, and a full Australian tour in December '07. If he was a colonising army, the whole world would now be marching extatically (or should that be blissfully?) to a national anthem of electro-psychedelia, girlie harmonies, dirty moog & a 1958 fuzz pedal-laden no-rules mash-up!

Righty right. There have been some changes afoot and for the time being we're taking over the second floor of Salon De Transmission at a new club called The Last Days Of Decadence near Old Street.

It's next Saturday, July 5th and we've got a skill guest called Rob Hyde from Chips With Everything.

Hopefully see some of you down there.

This month, BSL pays a visit to Transmission, at the fabulously monikered venue THE LAST DAYS OF DECADENCE.

John D and John T will be commandeering the second room from 11pm to 3am, playing the usual unusual mix of pouting pop, new wave, nu-disco and filthy electro. Joining the BSL crew this month is our special guest ROB HYDE, of legendary Manchester night CHIPS WITH EVEYTHING, bringing you what the Chips crew call “pop disco rock electronic spandex funk”. Trust us, it’s awesome.

Elsewhere in the club, there’ll be live sets from NIC NELL and WE ARE BAND, and DJ sets from HEAD GARDNER (Secret Garden Party), PLAYER PLAYER (Voltage) and Transmission head honcho JEFF AUTOMATIC.

As ever, mail us at This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it for reduced entry.

See you on the 5th,
