The fourth Any Major Funk mix, exclusive on OTF before I let the blogosophere have it in a couple of days time.

The previous three mixes stuck to the 1978-83 timeframe; for this I extended it by a year each way to accommodate the Commodores and Linda Lewis.

A few obvious tracks, and a couple of lesser known gems (the Patrice Rushen one especially is great). And I really, really like the Webster Lewis song.

1. Crusaders feat. Randy Crawford - Streetlife (Full version)
2. Average White Band - Let's Go Around Again
3. Dan Hartman - Relight My Fire
4. Linda Lewis - Class-Style (I've Got It)
5. Webster Lewis - Give Me Some Emotion
6. Diana Ross - My Old Piano
7. Luther Vandross - Never Too Much
8. Billy Ocean - Whatever Turns You On
9. Patrice Rushen - Number One
10. Quincy Jones - Ai No Corrida
11. Peaches & Herb - Shake Your Groove Thing
12. Third World - Try Jah Love
13. Taste Of Honey - Boogie Oogie Oogie
14. Commodores - Brick House
15. Chaka Khan - I'm Every Woman
16. Yvonne Elliman - Love Pains
17. Rick James - Super Freak

Classy as ever - tell you what, G-Man, do you, or anyone else, have CHaka Khan's "Any Old Sunday"? I need that.

Oh, I had that on my vinyl of What'cha Gonna Do For Me. Fine album. Give me a minute and I'll see if I can find it in the blogosphere.

Ooh, this thread reminds me. I found this incredible funk/jazz/soul/disco blog earlier this week, with free downloads of some amazing albums. Loads of prmising stuff I'd never heard of on there, which is nice.

Wow, the first post of that really had me speechless. That pic and the notion of Austrian funk!
