Twas out yesterday. I haven't heard it yet, but they'll have to go some to top their last effort. Any opinions?

I had a first listen of this last night, initial impressions it's a lot lighter in mood than most of their previous stuff, more accessible. Decent sounding though.

I really like it. I think it's the first time they've come even close to living up to the promise of the Young Liars EP.

I'm finding it quite a slog to get through. I'm only persisting because I'm a big fan of their other stuff. Hopefully it's a grower. The songs seem ordinary and lack the sonic invention of yore. That's a great shame.

I'm listening to it right now and it's... ok. I absolutely loved "Return To Cookie Mountain", I thought that was startling, and maybe it's raised my expectations too high. It's only the first listen though...

Do any of you like Dalek ? They have occupied the same sort of field that TV On The Radio seem to have vacated.

I don't see the similarity to be honest. Dalek are hip hop, TV On The Radio are rock music.

I'm a big fan of both though.

I really like this album. Golden Age and Shout Me Out are the two catchiest tracks that spring to mind, but there are so many good songs here. At the moment this is beating MGMT and Fujiya & Miyagi to my album of the year.

Similar in as much as they both have a dark, brooding and atmospheric sound.

I wish I could get Fujiya & Miyagi. I like the idea of them, their influences, their innovation.... I just can't get on with their music.

Been listening to this all week, and I really love it on all kinds of levels - rhythmically, instrumentally and vocally it constantly moves and inter-weaves its various parts and gives you unexpected kicks with every listen. They sound to me like the gifted grandchildren of the Talking Heads - that is, sort of influenced by them, but just as good in several of their own unique ways.
