Just wanted to highlight this piece about The Damned United and David Peace by my friend Mark Fisher, aka K-punk, on his blog which is generally very well worth investigating if you haven't seen it before. I was struck by this piece because in all my previous conversations I always got the impression Mark wasn't much of a football fan, so as an outsider perspective it seems highly acute.

His site is always interesting but, jesus, he really needs to change the typeface and the colour scheme. They are murder on the eyes.

very thoughtful stuff.

i admit i know virtually nothing about mark e smith, except that i saw him do a really weird interview on newsnight the day john peel died. i suppose he was already many years past his prime.
