To say that most clubs are full time is a bit of a stretch, but I guess half of the 12 team premier league are. Galway United are, but I can't see it lasting long. I know Nick Leeson likes a gamble, but after going full time, and only picking up one point and two goals from the first seven games they have just appointed Jeff Kenna as their manager.
Anyway, a handy tie to get to for Bohs, and hopefully they'll get through.
I won't be going to the game Gypsy, Kowalski has explained in length pretty much what I feel about them lot down the road. I saw him there (and Jorge Porbillas) in the UEFA game against Haka last year, but I probably won't be there this year. I'm sure you'll have a great time though.
I'm half hoping we (Bangor City) get drawn against St Pat's or Cork City in the UEFA Cup.
Does anyone know what (if any) the Prize money is for the Intertoto Cup?
[sorry about the first segment].
It's all a bit nostalgic but the simple fact is, there aren't many football grounds like Dalymount Park left. It's in the inner-north city, surrounded by modest houses (which cost a mint nowadays), so you can't see it from afar, well accept for the ancient Floodlight Pylons (built in 1962).
So if anyone ever fancies a bit of football like it used to be, a trip to Dublin for a Bohs game should be your lot. [Pats, Derry, Cork are the better fixtures]. It'll all be gone within 5 years. Dalymount RIP.
QUOTE: And so it seems - described on one Bohs site as "an absolute wanker" - seems it's not just Bangor fans who hold Kendall in such high esteem then!
His charisma knows no bounds, not even taste and decency restrain him
5-1 in the first leg.
Having gone a, typically for Bohs, a goal done in the first half.
Could yet be the biggest win in Europe for an Irish club.
Or could be the biggest turnaround.
We're Bohs.
We don't do things by the book.
