After the match last night there was an interview with George Soros on Hungarian TV. He talked a lot about the current economic crisis (and was pretty bleak about it, honestly, and as he seems to be fairly prescient in these things, this doesn't look good at all). Anyway, he was also asked about the AS Roma purchase which he was supposed to be pursuing, and said that (a) he was categorically not going to buy Roma, and that (b) he was never seriously considering it in the first place.

Which may be of vague interest to Spangles and others, so I thought I'd pass it on

Interestingly enough, Il Messagero (the Roman newspaper) is carrying a front page story today saying that the Sensis and Unicredit (the bank to which they owe 380 million euro) have worked out yet another restructuring plan that will give the Sensis another 2 1/2 years (i.e., 31 Dec 2010) to sell the club (and whatever else is needed to come up with 250 million of the total which will now be due at that time).

It's too early to tell if this is true and what effect it might have on Roma's "mercato", which has been in a bit of a stall given the uncertainty over the future ownership of the club.

I think that someone is trying to make Spangles' head explode.

She was already beside herself about Riise . . .
