Cardiff City & Wales I've always thought Forest Whitaker would do well. As I get older I am returning to the Custard Cream 3 Bits of Fry & Laurie - The Complete Scripts Jaded Axe Attack Location: Porthcawl originally, now Surrey, via London Birthdate: 1968-12-11

Bored's Chris Pike kit above has reminded me of this Influence offering which I don't think we've ever mentioned on the many times we've touched on this subject before;

The dreadful colour scheme continued on to the shirts and socks and even on to the previously blue and white badge. This was as a tribute to the colours of the Indian flag , where the owners the Kumar Brothers originated from. Or is that an apochryphal story?

But it's gold, not orange.

Are the Kumars from Kerry?

The badge is orange, I think the bars on the shirt are an attempt at it.

Oh my.

Having produced a pretty decent home shirt, Nike and Borussia Dortmund prove that they were concentrating their "fashion sense" on the away:

Don't joke. You know very well that this is the winner of last week's Ms Ruhrpott Beauty Pagant.

Looks like OM expect their away matches next season to be played on golf courses:

That l'OM shirt is almost a thing of beauty. Almost.

The Dortmund one, though, is a similarly close effort, but falls short enough that it ends up looking utterly hideous. If only they hadn't gone for a diagonal sponsor... what the hell were they thinking?

It's not too dissimilar from Bristol Rovers' first ever shirt, which was black with a yellow sash from the left shoulder to right hip (i.e. similar to River Plate's). But that, of course, didn't have a sponsor. And it certainly didn't have a sponsor running down the fucking sash!

Dortmund, not Leverkusen.

Good call on the Black Arabs' tribute angle. It is indeed the sponsor and swoosh that make it what it is. Pants.

Yeah Ursus, I spotted that right away - you must have replied whilst I was editing!

Has Barca's next away kit been unveiled yet? I'm presuming it'll be some hideous colour, they generally are... why they don't just stick with the beautiful sky-blue-and-slightly-darker-than-sky-blue stripes they had this season is beyond me.

I don't think it's been announced, but I have the same concern that you do. The last away kit I've liked was the navy with the blaugrana sash (I find this year's too aqua).

I quite liked it, but it does depend who's wearing it, I think. Don't want to sound too poncey, but I have blond hair and blue eyes - I'd look OK in it. Barca's players, who for the most part don't look anything like northern Europeans, don't.

And having taken a football kit discussion thread into the territory of what suits certain players' skin tones and hair colours best, for possibly the first time... I'll get my coat.

Our Marseille supporting mate has just taken up golf. And it's his birthday in three weeks. I think we've found our present.

The sash on that Dortmund shirt looks like it has nothing to do with the rest of the shirt - a sold plastic strip glued onto normal shirt material. It's like one of those reflective road safety things for kids cycling home in winter.
